To provide you with the very best service, we require that you read our policies. At the bottom of the online application, you will be required to check the box that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of Hope and Service to Mankind Foundation.
You must be 18 years old to participate but below 18 years can participate as a group from institutions. Children below 12/18yrs old must be in the accompany of their parent/legal guardian, teachers, or supervisors.
Travel insurance and medical coverage are not included in the program cost. These are the responsibility of the volunteer/participants.
Hope and Service to Mankind are not responsible for the loss of property, personal injury, illness, accident, delay, or expense sustained by the volunteer while participating in our programme.
Meanwhile, we are open to consider depending on the problem.
Hope and Service to Mankind and its agents are not responsible for any financial obligations or liabilities the participant may incur including damages to property, or injury to others while participating in this program.
Hope and Service to Mankind are not responsible for the cost of extra activities (sightseeing, language class, etc.) incurred during the course of your program.
Daily transportation costs are the volunteers’ responsibility, although we try to confirm accommodations within walking distance to worksite or bus transportation (very cheap in each country).
Volunteers agree to follow the laws of the host country, the policies of the community in which they volunteer, and/or the rules of the host family, failure to do so will result in the termination of your program and forfeiture of all program fees.
A non-refundable deposit of 200 euro is required along with your application. Program costs are paid in Euro only. We begin the confirmation process once the deposit is received. The final payment is due 45 days before departure or upon arrival in the host country. Volunteers agree that no part of the program fee is refundable once the program has commenced.
Cancellations must be received in writing. No refunds are issued for cancellations received less than 45 days before programme.
Prices on the website are subject to change without warning. Once the deposit is received, the program fee cost is guaranteed and will not change.
Follow the rules, advice, and policies set by the local Project Coordinator. You are required to fulfill a 42-hour workweek. Sightseeing and side trips are strictly limited to weekends. The work schedule is pre-determined by Hope and Service to Mankind and you cannot make changes to this schedule. Request for days off or time away from the program is based on the sole discretion of the Project Coordinator. Any disregard for the work schedule will result in the immediate termination of your program placement.
Recognize the representatives of the communities, and their home country and should act accordingly. Remember this is a chance to be an ambassador of your country.
Acknowledge that possession of illegal substances is a grave violation of our policy, and if discovered will result in the immediate cancellation of your program. Participants are cautioned that the possession of drugs is often dealt with severe punishment by host country law enforcement agencies.
Travel with an open mind; be respectful to the culture and customs of the country you are volunteering in. This means practicing patience and understanding.
Understand that alcohol consumption is not permitted in the host family, at the project site or the local offices. Responsible consumption is expected, gross misbehaviour will result in the termination of your program.
Be aware of the potential hazards of becoming involved in a sexual relationship with local people in the country in which you are volunteering. (i.e.: HIV, STDs)
Treat all people with respect and dignity, especially the elders of the community.
Dress properly concerning the local culture, as well as weather conditions. Please, realise that what is socially acceptable in western countries, can be considered offensive in others.
Avoid all political demonstrations and activities. Remember you are guests in the host country and subject to local laws and punishment.
Acknowledge the programmes and accommodations provided are customized for you and not changeable in the country without approval and consent of Hope and Service to Mankind Foundation and our Project Coordinators
Please, do inform the host family and Project Coordinators in advance of weekend travel plans and who is in your company for safety reasons.
